Midland Center Blasts Off for Space Explorers: THE INFINITE Experience

Midland Center for the Arts is excited to announce that Space Explorers: THE INFINITE, an immersive theatrical experience inspired by NASA missions aboard the International Space Station (ISS), will be arriving in Midland for four weeks only beginning January 25, 2025. This exclusive engagement, the first in the Midwest and only the sixth appearance in North America promises to captivate audiences with breathtaking 360-degree views of Earth and life in space using advanced virtual video technology.

Midland Center for the Arts to Host Empty Bowls Project to Fight Food Scarcity in Region

Empty Bowls is a global grassroots movement where local artists and craftspeople create handmade bowls, sold alongside a simple meal, to raise money for food-related charities. Attendees will receive a handcrafted bowl made by local artists and enjoy a meal of soup, bread, and dessert, courtesy of local restaurants. Proceeds from the event will support the Midland County Food Assistance Network.

Laugh Out Loud with Comedy Superstar Marlon Wayans at the Midland Center for the Arts

Get ready to laugh until you cry when comedian, actor, and writer Marlon Wayans brings his Wild Child Tour to the Midland Center for the Arts on Friday, November 22 at 7:30 PM. This R-rated performance is set to be an evening of hilarity, showcasing the bold humor and electrifying energy that have made Marlon Wayans a household name in comedy!

Midland Symphony Orchestra Announces Auditions for 2024/25 Season

The Midland Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is seeking professional musicians for performances in its 2024/25 Season, with auditions taking place on October 10, 2024. Auditions will be approximately 10 minutes long and will consist of required excerpts, solo selection(s), and possible sight-reading.

Midland Center for the Arts to Rock the Outdoor Stage with Center Stage Theatre’s ROCK OF AGES

Center Stage Theatre is thrilled to present the electrifying Broadway hit Rock of Ages on the Outdoor Stage this August. Directed and choreographed by Megan Meyer, with Myah Shelton as Assistant Director and Assistant Choreographer, and Christian Heintzelman as Music Director, this high-energy production will transport audiences back to the 1980s for an unforgettable rock 'n' roll experience. Performances are scheduled for two weekends from August 7 - 9 and 14 - 16 at 8 PM.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Disney's Newsies to Light Up the Outdoor Stage, Starring the Region's Top Teen Talent

Next week, Midland Center for the Arts will present its Rising Stars production of Disney’s Newsies, taking place from June 26 - 29, 2024, at 8:00 PM on the Outdoor Stage on the Center’s campus. Based on the 1992 Disney film, this musical features a celebrated score by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid) and Jack Feldman, alongside a compelling book by celebrated actor and writer, Harvey Fierstein.

Rock Out with Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs at Midland Center This July!

Iconic guitarist and songwriter Mike Campbell is joining his award-winning band The Dirty Knobs to perform at the Midland Center for the Arts Auditorium on Saturday, July 13 at 7:30 P.M.

Steve Schonberg Joins Midland Center for the Arts as Vice President, Marketing & Sales

Today, Midland Center for the Arts announced that Steve Schonberg will join the Center’s executive team on June 10th as Vice President, Marketing & Sales. He will succeed Diane Willcox, who previously announced her retirement scheduled for this summer. Steve, well-established in the Broadway community, has relocated to Midland from New York City where he built a strong reputation working in the arts as well as in consumer and nonprofit marketing.
