Midland Center for the Arts Hosts 43rd Annual Holiday Art Fair

The Holiday Art Fair, now in its 43rd year, is set to showcase the works of 39 talented artists in a festive setting that rings in the spirit of the season. From 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, November 18, and 12 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, November 19, guests will be able to wander through a trail of local artist vendors inside the Brick Lobby to purchase handmade items and special gifts for the most wonderful time of the year.

Midland Center for the Arts Selects Spence Brothers to Lead Renovation Capital Campaign Project

Midland Center for the Arts has announced the selection of Spence Brothers as the construction management firm for the upcoming Renovation Capital Campaign project. As previously announced, Quinn Evans, a nationally recognized Michigan Architectural Firm, is designing the renovation. With a reputation for delivering exceptional results and a commitment to excellence, Spence Brothers will play a crucial role in bringing the vision of the new Center to life, ensuring a state-of-the-art hub for arts, science, and innovation.

Midland Center for the Arts Presents New Adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Get ready to embark on a Halloween adventure like no other as Midland Center presents a new adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, featuring Youth Theatre actors from the Great Lakes Bay Region and directed by Travis Kendrick. This imaginative play is written by Christopher Castanho, and adapted from the classic Washington Irving story. Performances are from October 27 - 29 and promise spine-tingling excitement for audiences of all ages. Midland Center will offer complimentary children’s books to all kids who attend a public performance of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow to connect reading and literacy with live theatre.

Midland Symphony Orchestra Presents Postcards Concert with World Premiere of Children’s Book, Hello Yellow Cello

Midland Center for the Arts invites audiences to embark on a captivating musical journey across the globe with Midland Symphony Orchestra in its upcoming Postcards concert on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 7:30 PM. The evening boasts a repertoire that will have audiences of all ages transported to faraway lands. Featured guests include renowned double bassist Kebra-Seyoun Charles, winner of the Robert Fredrick Smith Prize at the International Sphinx Competition, and a special world premiere preshow orchestral arrangement led by MacArthur fellow, Tomeka Reid.

Drew Moomey Appointed Director of Development at Midland Center for the Arts

Midland Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Drew Moomey to the position of Director of Development. In this role, Mr. Moomey will be responsible for all fundraising activities, including overseeing the completion of the Center’s $47 million capital campaign; managing donor relations; establishing corporate partnerships; facilitating planned giving; and seeking foundation support for the organization.

Disney Concerts’ Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert comes to Midland Center for the Arts on September 23 at 6:30 PM. Encanto lovers of all ages can sing along with their favorite GRAMMY®-Award winning songs performed by a live band of musicians while watching the entire film.

Midland Center for the Arts Seeks Adult Actors for Pulitzer Prize-winning Play Doubt: A Parable

Center Stage Theatre is hosting auditions for Doubt: A Parable written by John Patrick Shanley at Midland Center for the Arts for performances on October 12 - 15. The Pulitzer Prize®  and Tony Award®-winning play will be directed locally by Elaine DiFalco Daugherty.

Midland Center Seeks Students in Grades 6 - 12 for Youth Theatre Production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1)

An exciting new adaptation of a Halloween classic, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, will be presented by Midland Center’s Youth Theatre on October 27 - 29, 2023 in the Little Theater. Auditions for students in grades 6 - 12 will be held on September 6 and 7, 2023. The stage play is directed by Travis Kendrick and written by Christopher Castanho, adapted from the Washington Irving short story.

Irish Super Group Comes to Midland Center with A NEW SHOW CELTIC THUNDER – ODYSSEY!

PBS darlings Celtic Thunder will play Midland Center for the Arts on Tuesday, October 17 at 7:30 PM. ODYSSEY, the latest show from the internationally acclaimed group, is a fascinating exploration of Irish music and culture, firmly grounded in the ensemble's impressive history, while ambitiously forging new paths.
