It’s Time to Dance! The Prom Dazzles the Outdoor Stage in August​​

Midland Center for the Arts’ Center Stage Theatre will present the regional premiere of the hit musical comedy, The Prom on August 2 - 11, 2023. The musical debuted on Broadway in 2018, with a book by Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone, Elf: The Musical) and Chad Beguelin (Disney’s Aladdin, Elf: The Musical, The Wedding Singer), music by Matthew Skylar (Elf: The Musical, The Wedding Singer) and lyrics by Chad Beguelin. The Center Stage Theatre production is directed by Bill Anderson Jr., with choreography by Gina Kearly and music direction by Matthew Conley.

Kelley Kritzman Named Chief Financial Officer of Midland Center for the Arts

Midland Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelley Kritzman to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As the Center’s CFO, Ms. Kritzman will manage the financial operations of the $9 million not-for-profit cultural organization, including overseeing all cash flow, managing the operating budget, financial forecasting, business planning, and overseeing the finances of the upcoming $47 million Capital Campaign renovation project.

Dr. Matt Travis Named Chief Operating Officer of Midland Center for the Arts

Midland Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Matt Travis to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this new position, Dr. Travis will oversee various operations of the Center, including programming, marketing, technical services, and visitor experience. Dr. Travis has been a dedicated administrator at Midland Center for the Arts for over six years, and his extensive experience in arts administration and programming will be pivotal to the Center.

Midland Center Seeking Artists and Vendors for 56th Annual Summer Art Fair

Downtown Midland will transform this summer with vibrant art, live music, and more in the 56th annual Summer Art Fair on June 3 & 4, 2023.  Midland Center for the Arts is seeking established and emerging artists for the annual Art Fair. Since its inception, the Summer Art Fair has held a long-standing tradition of excellence as a premier fine art fair. It is held outdoors on Main Street in Downtown Midland, a community noted for its cultural awareness, appreciation, arts resources and artistic avocation.

Center Stage Theatre Presents Gripping True Tale in THESE SHINING LIVES this April

‘The Radium Girls’, as we know them today, are remembered for the monumental changes for women’s and workers’ rights. Midland Center for the Arts’ Center Stage Theatre will dramatize their quest for justice in These Shining Lives by Melanie Marnich on April 14 - 23, 2023. The Midland Center production is directed by Susie Polito and will be presented in the round with audience members on all four sides of the stage in the Little Theater.

OMG You Guys! Legally Blonde – The Musical Comes to Midland, March 31 - April 1!

America’s favorite blonde, Elle Woods, is ready to prove who’s in charge (again) as Legally Blonde - The Musical comes to Midland Center for the Arts for 3 performances from March 31 through April 1, 2023. The ultimate Broadway tribute to girl power, Legally Blonde will take you from the UCLA sorority house to the Harvard halls of justice with its coming-of-age story.

Midland Center for the Arts Seeks Local Actors for Regional Premiere of The Sparrow

Center Stage Theatre is rounding out its 2022-23 season with the Regional Premiere of The Sparrow written by Chris Mathews, Jake Minton and Nathan Allen at Midland Center for the Arts on June 1 - 4. The Midland production will be directed and choreographed locally by Emily Anderson, Gina Kearly and Travis Kendrick.

Midland Center for the Arts Seeks Top Teen Talent for Rising Stars Production of Footloose

Midland Center for the Arts is searching for the top teen talent in the Great Lakes Bay region, inviting current students in grades eight through twelve to audition for the Rising Stars production of Footloose. Designed for students interested in performance careers, participants will work through an intensive, professional-level rehearsal process with a Broadway creative team and star in a popular musical.
