The Hall of Ideas and the upper floors of the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science & Art continue to remain closed due to flood damage to our facility, we are bringing interactive and hands-on STEM Exhibits to the IFF & Dupont STEM Exhibit Space. Join us for one of the exhibits below:

FRI 12 - 4 PM, SAT 10 AM - 2 PM and SUN 12 - 4 PM

$4 per person and FREE for Museum Members

Dig deep as you uncover the many layers of our planet and investigate how Earth has changed over billions of years. Explore volcanoes, earthquakes, and geological records that showcase the astounding history of planet Earth.

Minis in the Museum

SAT, SEP 23, 2023 / 10:30 AM

Join us for a monthly story time at the museum! Mini museum goers between the ages of 1 - 5 are invited to join us every third Saturday of the month at 10:30 AM in the IFF & Dupont STEM Exhibit Space. Guests will enjoy a special story and themed snack, as well as a take-home activity for children and parents to do together.

In September, we will read Lubna and Pebble by Wendy Meddour. 

The event is included with Museum Admission on SAT, SEP 23, or free for Museum Members!

STEM Brunch Series / Michigan Rockhounding

SAT, OCT 14, 2023 / 11 AM (Service begins at 10 AM)

The AB Dow Museum of Science & Art presents "STEM Brunch" - a series of presentations where the public is invited to come in, order a flight of mimosas and a plate from a curated collection of brunch favorites, before enjoying an engaging lecture on a STEM subject. Don't miss our History Brunches as well, alternating each month!

Michigan Rockhounding: The Leland Blue
Join Midland Center for the Arts and special guest Cody Wiedenbein from Michigan Rockhounds for an engaging discussion on one of Michigan's most prized rocks, the Leland Blue. Enjoy a coffee or delicious brunch while you learn about the history and geology of this industrial waste product that has turned into a treasure. 

Brunch plated service is by pre-order only. Space is limited - pre-registration is recommended! Brunch food pre-orders will close on TUE, OCT 10 at 11 PM. Click here to view the menu.

Halloween Bash

SAT, OCT 28, 2023 / Timed Entry 10 AM - 2 PM (Every 30 Minutes)
Pre-Registration Required

Come in costume and do some early trick-or-treating outside of the Midland Center for the Arts! Enjoy spook-tacular science demonstrations, ghoulish hands-on activities, and don’t forget to collect treats along the way! All ages are welcome. Make sure to purchase your time slot in advance.

Tickets include entrance to our museum exhibits inside the Center on this day as well!

Spark!Lab® Smithsonian

Spark!Lab is a unique hands-on learning lab where visitors of all ages can explore what it means to be an inventor. Participants use their knowledge and provided materials to answer open-ended challenges. Creativity and collaboration abound in this safe space where if you fail it is just a first attempt in learning!
