Midland Center Seeking Artists and Vendors for 56th Annual Summer Art Fair

The Annual Event is Accepting Artist Applications Through April 15
For Downton Midland Fair on June 3 & 4, 2023
Downtown Midland will transform this summer with vibrant art, live music, and more in the 56th annual Summer Art Fair on June 3 & 4, 2023. Midland Center for the Arts seeks established and emerging artists for the annual Art Fair. Since its inception, the Summer Art Fair has held a long-standing tradition of excellence as a premier fine art fair. It is held outdoors on Main Street in Downtown Midland, a community noted for its cultural awareness, appreciation, arts resources and artistic avocation.

“This year we are expanding the Fair by supporting local emerging artists, as well as collaborating with other local art events through Public Arts Midland,” said Beth Thomas, Arts Education Coordinator. “The weekend festivities will provide great opportunities to celebrate the arts and connect with creatives in our community and beyond, we encourage all interested artists to apply.”

The 2023 Summer Art Fair jury includes Amy Gibas, Curator at Studio 23; Colleen Reed, Program Director and Gallery Curator at Creative 360; Laura Vosejpka, Executive Director at Creative 360; along with Armin Mersmann and Valerie Allen, both prominent local artists in the community and former Midland Center visual art instructors.

Each year, the Summer Art Fair brings in thousands of visitors and is highly supported by the local community. This year, Summer Art Fair hosts artists, local music entertainment, Children's activities hosted by the Grace A. Dow Library, art demonstrations and delicious food. “We’re excited to partner with different organizations in the community to celebrate art in the Great Lakes Bay region,” said Jennifer Kanyo, Senior Director of Museums & Education.

Artist Applications are available through April 15, 2023, and can be found online at www.midlandcenter.org/artfair. The Summer Art Fair takes place June 3 & 4, 2023, rain or shine from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. and is free to attend with free parking in the Downtown Midland area.
