OPENING NIGHT!  The Midland Symphony Orchestra invites you on a breathtaking musical journey celebrating the violin! The evening begins with Motherboxx Connection by Carlos Simon, a vibrant and powerful work commissioned by our friends and partners at The Sphinx Organization. Violinist Adrian Anantawan will join the Orchestra for a performance of this Tchaikovsky masterwork. The second half features the beautiful and alluring Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov.

Cosmic Cycles

The Center continues its journey through the cosmos with an awe-inspiring evening of music and imagery. Experience Cosmic Cycles, an immersive work by Henry Dehlinger that blends breathtaking NASA visuals with a powerful cinematic score. The evening begins with Midland Symphony Orchestra Principal Horn Kurt Civilette performing Glière’s stunning Horn Concerto, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of exploration and discovery.

Sounds of Independence

In celebration of America's 250th birthday, the Midland Symphony Orchestra honors the music of America's founding era surrounding the Declaration of Independence. This thoughtfully curated program explores connections between the Founding Fathers and European composers of the time, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Pianist Amiri Harewood joins the orchestra for a performance that bridges history and artistry in a stirring tribute to independence.

Antonín Dvořák / Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”

The Midland Symphony Orchestra celebrates the sounds of home with a program honoring Michigan-based composers. The evening highlights MSO's Principal Trombonist Denis Jiron in the world premiere of Carolina Calvache’s newly commissioned Trombone Concerto, showcasing her distinctive and expressive voice. The program closes with Dvořák's New World Symphony, an innovative and powerful symphonic tribute to the American spirit.
