MIDLAND, MI, May 1, 2025 – Midland Center for the Arts is gearing up for the return of its annual Summer Art Fair in Downtown Midland. This beloved outdoor event features handmade goods, local food vendors, live music, and the chance to meet and support artists from across the state. The fair runs rain or shine on May 31 and June 1 from 10 AM to 5 PM, and is free to attend.
“Our Summer Art Fair has been amazing to watch grow over the past couple of years,” said Beth Nova, Fine Arts Program Supervisor at Midland Center for the Arts. “We had a record-breaking 190 applicants this year and will welcome 94 artists to the fair. With the addition of some of our local arts partners and sponsors, visitors can explore more than 100 tents filled with incredible art, plus enjoy live performances from some of our region’s best musical talents.”
Artist participation has continued to grow since 2021. As part of the fair’s commitment to supporting new talent, four emerging local artists have been selected to participate through the Linda Basque Emerging Artists Scholarship, with prizes awarded to help fund their continued art education.
For perusing, shopping, or enjoying the start of summer, the Summer Art Fair will be open rain or shine in Downtown Midland on May 31 and June 1, from 10 AM to 5 PM. For more information, visit www.midlandcenter.org/artfairs.
