Wanna ROCK?! Midland Center for the Arts is seeking actors ages 18 and up for all roles in Center Stage Theatre's production of ROCK OF AGES, on the Outdoor Stage!

About the Musical / Journey back to the 80's in this high-energy Broadway musical that tells the story of a small-town girl, a city boy, and a rock 'n' roll romance on the Sunset Strip. Aspiring rock star Drew has dreams to be the next big thing while also longing for Sherri, a girl fresh off the bus from Kansas. When the bar where rock reigns supreme is set to be demolished by German developers, it's up to these wannabe rockers and their band of friends to save the day - and the music! 

ROCK OF AGESelectric score, accompanied by a live rock band, features all your favorite 80's rock anthems and power ballads, including: “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” “Here I Go Again,” “We Built This City,” “Don't Stop Believin’,” and more!

Rising Stars is designed for current High School students, including rising ninth graders through current graduating seniors, who will work through an intensive rehearsal process and star in a hit musical on the Outdoor Stage!

Seize the day with this year’s Rising Star production of Disney's Newsies! Midland Center’s Rising Stars program brings together professional creatives from New York City and Broadway with the top youth talent from all over the Great Lakes Bay region. Disney’s Newsies features a score by eight-time Academy Award® winners Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by four-time Tony Award® winner Harvey Fierstein.

The Rising Stars initiative is designed for current High School students who will engage in a professional-level audition and rehearsal process that improves their skills and prepares them for future college and professional auditions and performance experiences.

Midland Center for the Arts Chorale

Midland Center for the Arts Chorale

No Audition Required

The Midland Center for the Arts Chorale features beautiful voices and engaging, stunning repertoire, under the direction of new Conductor Dr. Letícia Grützmann! The Chorale rehearses Mondays from 7-9 PM at the Center.


Interested in joining? Contact Dr. Grützmann at leticiagrutzmann.j@gmail.com to coordinate a Monday rehearsal you can attend with the choir.

Men of Music

No Audition Required

Men of Music, the Center's all-male adult ensemble, performs a holiday concert and Spring concert annually, rehearsing on Tuesday's from 7 - 10 PM. No audition is required, for more information on joining the Men of Music, please contact Grace Marra. Directed by Grace Marra

Auditions

Youth Theatre

Youth Theatre provides a learning experience for those who enjoy performing onstage as well as for those who enjoy working backstage with makeup, props, scenery, and costumes. The rehearsal process for DISNEY'S FROZEN JR is structured to also include education opportunities for youth to develop and build skills in acting, singing, dancing, and technical theatre through special workshops, activities, and exercises.

Performance Opportunities

Golden Guild

Golden Guild performs in area senior activity centers, residences, and care facilities in May, June, October, November, and December each year. Performances are approximately 35-45 minutes in length. Please contact Katie Miller at miller@midlandcenter.org for more information on booking a performance.
