Join Broadway Professionals & Top High-School Talent From The Great Lakes Bay Region

Auditions took place Friday, APR 28, 2023. Thank you to everyone who participated! Check back later in the summer when we announce the 2024 Rising Stars Production.

Midland Center for the Arts is searching for the top talent in the Great Lakes Bay Region that is interested in gaining professional-level experience and training from a Broadway Creative Team for a summer production of FOOTLOOSE. This initiative is designed for Rising Stars, current High School students including current freshmen through graduating seniors, who will work through an intensive rehearsal process and star in this rockin' nostalgic musical. Rehearsals will include a professional-level schedule.

The Creative Team brings professional experience from the Great White Way, starring and working on Broadway productions.

Performances will run June 28 - 30, 2023. The audition packet is available here.

Katharine Quinn

Director & Choreographer

Katharine is assisting Tony Winner Robert Horn on the book of the new musical, Shucked, on Broadway in Spring 2023. She assisted Chase Brock on Hercules at The Public Theater, served as SDCF Fellow to Denis Jones on the Broadway production of Tootsie, and has directed and choreographed award-winning regional productions across the country. katharinequinn.com

Rachel Perlman

Associate Director & Associate Choreographer

Rachel’s National/International Tour and Cruise Ship credits include: Joseph…Dreamcoat (Directed and Choreographed by Andy Blankenbeuler), Super Why! LiveGrease: The Musical (Royal Caribbean), and Holland America – World Cruise.  She has served as an associate/assistant for such notable companies as Disney Cruise Line, Tuacahn, and Think Tank, NYC.  rachelperlman.com

Curtis Reynolds

Music Director

Curtis has music directed the National Tour of Spamilton: An American Parody.  He has music directed for prominent regional theatres such as Arts Center Of Coastal Carolina, Main State Music Theatre, and New York Theatre Workshop.  He performed/played piano on a cruise ship in Billboard Onboard.  With his MFA in Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy from Boston Conservatory of Berklee, he currently teaches at Fort Lewis College. curtisjreynolds.com
