About Rising Stars / Every summer, Midland Center for the Arts searches for the top talent in the Great Lakes Bay Region for an intensive, professional-level experience and training from a creative team of industry professionals. Incoming and current High School students - including current 8th through 12th graders - will work through an intensive, professional-like rehearsal process in a truncated amount of time.

Step behind the curtain with the Rising Stars Technical Track! Available for students who want to learn and engage with the behind-the-scenes work for FREAKY FRIDAY. The technical track includes props, costumes, hair and makeup, scene and set building, stage management, and more! Deadline to apply is MAY 9 and interviews will be the following week. About the Show / When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.
