SESSION 2: WED / OCT 28 - DEC 9 (No Class Nov 25) / 10 AM - 1 PM
In this class we will be taking basic forms and techniques to new heights. This session we will light up your world with different types of lamps and lanterns! We will be exploring concepts such as translucency of porcelain, luminosity of finishing techniques and the engineering skills to incorporate fixtures. During this class we will be focused on shape and form as well as outside vs. inside and what role light plays in our work. We will start with candle lanterns in Session 1 and move on to wired lamps in Session 2. (Porcelain is not required, but highly recommended for this class.) Previous ceramic experience required. Students are expected to purchase clay through the Center Ticket Office for $50 ($60 for porcelain).
