About the Musical / Discover life as an islander with the story of the 38 planes that were diverted to Gander on September 11, 2001. In a small town on the edge of Newfoundland, thousands of unexpected guests arrive all at once when planes are forced to land and stay put. Built from real interviews, COME FROM AWAY moves quickly, with driving music, overlapping stories, and a huge amount of heart. It is about kindness in the middle of uncertainty, the courage to welcome someone new, and the way a town can become a place to belong almost overnight.

Youth Theatre
Youth Theatre offers opportunities both onstage and backstage, from acting and singing to makeup, props, scenery, and costumes. Rehearsals are designed as a learning experience, with workshops and activities that build skills in performance and technical theatre.

About the Musical / Buddy the Elf leaves the North Pole for New York City to find his dad, and turns the city upside down with his very serious Christmas cheer. Elf the Musical JR. brings the classic holiday movie to stage with fun ensemble numbers, lots of comedy, and a story with a simple uplifting message just right for young performers and audiences alike: you belong here, exactly as you are.

The Choirs of the Center bring together singers of all ages to perform an exciting variety of choral programs for audiences across the Great Lakes Bay Region.
Youth Honor Choirs Auditions 2026/27
The Youth Honor Choirs Program is dedicated to nurturing the development of young singers through education and performance while encouraging a lifelong appreciation for participation in and enjoyment of music. We're excited to start the next season with Vocalise, for grades 3-8, and Ovation, for grades 9-12.

Do you love singing, but have little time to dedicate to it? Consider joining the Midland Center Chorale! Chorale features beautiful voices and engaging, stunning repertoire, under the direction of new Conductor Dr. Letícia Grützmann! The Chorale rehearses Mondays from 7:15-9:15 PM at the Center.

Men of Music
No Audition Required
Men of Music, the Center's all-male adult ensemble, performs a holiday concert and Spring concert annually, rehearsing on Tuesday's from 7 - 10 PM. No audition is required, for more information on joining the Men of Music, please contact Grace Marra. Directed by Grace Marra
Midland Symphony Orchestra Auditions

Midland Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has provided mid-Michigan with continuous symphonic music since 1936. Along with concerts featuring renowned guest artists, the MSO also provides educational opportunities through its partnerships with area schools, scholarships, music appreciation initiatives and guest artist master classes and residencies. Midland Symphony Orchestra will hold auditions for its 2026/27 season.
The following positions are open: Principal Trumpet, 2nd Trumpet, 2nd Horn, 3rd Horn, Section Violin, Principal Viola.
Auditions will last approximately 10 minutes and include required excerpts, solo selection(s), and possible sight-reading. A full schedule will be shared 3 days prior to each audition date.
To reserve a time, registration and a $25 refundable deposit must be received by October 5 for Trumpet and Horn auditions, or October 27 for string auditions. Checks should be mailed to 1801 W. Saint Andrews, Midland, MI 48640, and will be returned at the conclusion of the audition. Required repertoire, excerpts, and the application form can be found below. Performance Opportunities
Golden Guild
Golden Guild performs in area senior activity centers, residences, and care facilities in May, June, October, November, and December each year. Performances are approximately 35-45 minutes in length.
