Brunch History: Grace Anna Ball Dow and the Midland Libraries

SAT, JAN 17, 2026 / 11 AM (Brunch service begins at 10 AM)

Midland County Historical Society presents Brunch History: a series of presentations where the public is invited to come in, order a flight of mimosas and a plate from a curated collection of brunch favorites, before enjoying an engaging historical talk.

Join archivist and historian Tawny Ryan Nelb for a morning of history. The lecture gives an overview of Grace Dow's involvement with the library system from 1889-1953 and includes histories of all the libraries during that time period. As usual, Ms. Nelb uses many historical images to tell the story in addition to basing the narrative on meticulous research.
