Artist Contract

Contract Agreement

Midland Center for the Arts reserves the right to reject an entry based on content or the physical limitations of the gallery. Works of art will be insured during the duration of the exhibition once within the building. Artists will insure their objects in transit to or from the museum. However, the artwork will not be insured by the Midland Center for the Arts due to faulty hanging or standing devices. Artwork must be original and created within the last three years within one of the studio school classes but not previously submitted. We reserve the right to photograph and reproduce accepted artwork for education and publicity purposes. Artists agree to leave their artwork for the specified time of the exhibition. If artwork is not picked up within 90 days of the close of the exhibition, it becomes the sole property of the Midland Center for the Arts. The artist is responsible for picking up their artwork within the designated timeframe. If they are unable to do so, they may designate an artist representative. Please note that the artwork will not be released without written notification to the Curator of Visual Arts (Regina Schreck) within 48 hours of pick-up using the artist’s email address from this application. Since we have limited storage, we expect artwork to be picked up at the time stated on this application form. Please check below indicating that you agree with these conditions set forth by the contract, along with the timeline and rules of this exhibition.
