Work with Broadway Talent!

Midland Center for the Arts is searching for the top talent in the Great Lakes Bay Region that is interested in gaining professional-level experience and training from a Broadway Creative Team for a summer production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. This newest initiative is designed for Rising Stars, current High School students including current freshmen through graduating seniors, who will work through an intensive rehearsal process and star in this Disney musical hit. Rehearsals will include a professional-level schedule and daily small group collaboration in a safe, healthy, outdoor environment (Indoor rehearsal in the case of inclement weather).

The Creative Team brings professional experience from the Great White Way, starring and working on productions like The SpongeBob Musical.

Performances will run June 23-25, 2022. Performer Tuition $200 for those who are cast. Payment due after casting no later than 6/1/22

We're all in this together in Disney’s smash hit musical– live on stage!  Featuring the top high school talent from throughout the region, and led by a team of Broadway veterans, Disney's High School Musical is fun for the whole family!

One of the biggest pop-culture phenomena in recent memory, High School Musical topped the music charts and broke records within weeks of its 2006 Disney Channel premiere.  With Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, this beloved story has been reinvigorated in pop culture.

L'ogan J'ones

Director
Actor in Broadway's The Spongebob Musical and Off-Broadway's Clueless

L'ogan J'ones is an NYC based actor, dancer, singer, choreographer and musician. Originally from New Jersey, community theater and studying at a local dance studio led to higher education at the University of Michigan where L'ogan received a BFA in Musical Theater with a minor in Global Theater and Ethnic Studies. L'ogan began performing professionally at 18 at the St Louis MUNY. Favorite credits include being an original member of THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL on broadway as well as CLUELESS the musical Off-Broadway. L'ogan has performed at many theaters across the U.S. including TUTS in Houston and PCLO in Pittsburgh.

Paul Helm does it all: pianist, singer, actor, music director, arranger, Grammy-nominated artist – and is in great demand. Having traveled all over the world, he's so excited to bring his teachings to Rising Stars in the Great Lakes Bay region.

Emma Lou DeLaney

Actor in Spring Awakening, Mamma Mia!, Nickel Mines at ACT of Connecticut, and more!

Emma Lou DeLaney is a performer, teaching artist, and creative from Southern California. Her choreographic work has taken her from Key West to Los Angeles to Carnegie Hall.  She has 10 years of experience teaching dance, music and theatre to ages 2 through adult, and loves nothing more than sharing the joy of art, especially with our youngest generation of artists, from who she often learns more than she teaches. Many thanks to Travis and Christopher, and the Midland team… Emma is so excited to be working with the talented young people here in Midland this summer!
